1. And it creates an argument because of the glitch in the app.Scroll stops working while typing! I can tolerate having to hit the space bar after every word, but when it stops scrolling as you are typing you can't see what you're typing and correct the errors! I pay 25 cents for every email and now i can't use the entire 4000 characters to send a message.

Drains your battery enough that you'd think all its features would be hyper-functional, but nope: Wouldn't record video for me to send an inmate and kept crashing when I tried, the menu doesn't work if you return to it after using any section of the app, so you have to restart the app to use a different section ... ridiculous.

3. Very disappointing.When the keyboard hides what I'm typing, I started hitting the enter button or the button you use to start a new paragraph and move the cursor back up to finish my message.

4. Swapping to this app from Jpay has been a really bad experience.The new update is bulls***! I can only type one paragraph before my message is hidden by the keyboard and I can't scroll down to see what I have typed or to edit anything.

5. After this recent update, when I get to the bottom of the page of the message I am typing, I can't see anything anymore... page doesn't scroll up.

6. Autocorrect does not work on this app so almost every other word is misspelled, especially now that I can't see the full message and go back to edit it.

7. I love my loved one but when I had to type out each letter it made me not want to send a message as bad as that sounds.

8. So now I have to waste a stamp just to send a separate message because I only have a paragraph worth of visible space.

9. Or when I'm typing up the message for me to be able to use the Talk to text feature, like I was able to use beforehand.

10. As others have stated, auto-correct or predictive text does not work when sending an eMessage, which is a pain.

11. It would also be super helpful if there was an indication that the inmate actually received the message.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Securus Issues

1. Fix Securus Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Securus: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Securus App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Securus" » Open Securus Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Securus » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Securus Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Securus servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Securus Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Securus app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Securus might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Securus. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Securus then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Securus not working


2. Fix Securus Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Securus be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Securus not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Securus may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
