Having the map offline helps a lot too especially since my T-mobile connection cuts out every so often while underground.Doesn't actually log you in automatically unless you click to join the wifi (at every station) - it does let you skip the ad gate, though.I just us this app as a high definition picture of NYC subway and nothing else.

2. It would be interesting to see it above a city map, to verify the places and atractions.The street overlay map is detailed enough to figure out where to navigate to catch the right train.

3. Doesn't automatically work, or even open up when you're at a station, so you have to first open the app and then try to sign into WiFi normally.

4. Unlike some other apps which shall remain nameless.Not just a map, but live information about the situation of each train as it approaches the stops.
