1. If you're looking for a complete system for water management, including the ability to control it all in an app or from the web, Rachio is an excellent choice!there's no other way to do irrigation.
2. The old version allowed this, the new one does not. Before saying anything about the app, let's start with saying that the Rachio system (the physical system that controls your sprinklers) is fantastic.
3. πI really am grateful that I can adjust my watering schedule wherever I want and without having to deal with the old way at the controller in the garage.
4. other than this these are great controllers with a great app.Pleasantly surprised, usually apps like this are garbage (looking at you Traeger App).
5. It really took a lot of work to get it to where it was easy to deal with. Was great till they "fixed" something that wasn't broken.
6. The controllers do a great job of optimizing the watering so you don't over water and conserve as much as possible.
7. I have two Rachio's and they are unaware of each other so I have to do a lot of programming and monitoring to keep them from opening too many zones at one time.
8. However, the Rachio app just seems to always work, setting up my unit was fairly simple (I had to get a little involved but that was due to my own router and Internet set up).
9. However, just as the old un-smart controllers were had absolutely no intuitive layout and logic, Rachio's smart app has the exact same problems.
10. I connected by directly connecting my laptop to Rachio's setup wifi network first.
11. Can we get the old version back please? Edit: Apparently the ability to do manual runs disappears when you put the controller in standby.
