1. And PLEASE figure out a way to turn everything OFF with 1 click, without going to each camera, setting, find your choice, turn off, then back out of each screen that you just opened! So needed for when I want to cut my yard, or having a BBQ, or anything where I know that I'm going to be in and out the door.The app just sucks.

2. Just wish I wasn't so damn clunkyWith the lag time, it is nearly impossible to get a live view of current events, replay events or watch footage.

3. Everytime you try to open a video all you get is either a black screen or frozen still image from the camera and an eternal spinning green wheel.

8. Please, don't automate and tell me "This doesn't look right", actually fix the problems that we're paying to have work properly.I've been patient hoping for some fixes.

10. The app will not even open, and essentially turns the system into a traditional home alarm system.

11. I don't have any needed updates, but when I attempt to access cameras for current or previous events, all it does is clock.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Vivint Issues

1. Fix Vivint Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Vivint: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Vivint App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Vivint" » Open Vivint » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Vivint » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Vivint app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Vivint servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Vivint" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Vivint app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Vivint might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Vivint. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Vivint then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Vivint not working


2. Fix Vivint Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Vivint be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Vivint not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Vivint may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
