1. Then, when the commercials come on 10x louder than the show was, it used to be convenient for me to quickly open the app remote & lower the volume or mute the commercials, which is not possible with the new app.

2. EX: The remote on the previous app had volume control; the new app's remote has NO volume control, not even a mute button! Sometimes I turn up my TV volume if I'm leaving the room for 2 min (so I can hear it).

3. With the remote it's impossible to use the number pad to get to the channel I want due to the lag between the app and my cable box, and the most important part of the app, managing the DVR, doesn't work.

7. I use the app as a remote, the previous version had volume controls.

8. Otherwise the app works well, except I cant change channels through the guide, which is another purposely done function that does not help anyone.It's ok, but I much preferred the setup of the old app.

9. When I click on the "GUIDE" tab it takes forever to load, and when I click on a specific show on a channel it takes forever to load as well.

10. I just reached out to optimum and was told this was not a design flaw but this is how the remote will function.

11. 2) isn't the purpose of the app to allow you access to TV anywhere in the house? This app is the epitome of useless.They took the volume controls away.

1. Fix Optimum Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Optimum: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Optimum App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Optimum" » Open Optimum » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Optimum » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Optimum app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Optimum servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Optimum" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Optimum app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Optimum might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Optimum. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Optimum then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Optimum not working

2. Fix Optimum Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Optimum be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Optimum not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Optimum may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
