1. Having to manually scroll through a list of 20-30 locations is difficult when at the end of a 14-hour shift, so the expected Location and Activity entries should default based on the current time of day in the schedule.

It's great for a few things but has a long way to catch up.Updated rating from 3/5 to 5/5 because encounter logging issues have been resolved and logging encounters is now quite easy (slowly becoming my go to way of logging right then and there after doing a procedure instead of waiting to get to a computer).

3. (1) Work logging on the mobile website is still noticeably better with the "punch in" and "punch out" feature.

4. (2) The work logging should pre-fill with the expected schedule for the day.

5. No "clock-in/out" option for work hours.Lacking a lot of features compared to web browser version which really limits its functionality.

6. Hopefully shift logging can be expanded to include bulk logging and approving of shifts, maybe via a month by month view as mentioned before.

7. Can't access any documents uploaded or check my schedule for didactics and download documents for lecture.I'm not sure why anyone would actually download this app.

8. Needs to be fixedAndroid version asks me for an institution but doesn't provide a drop down menu to pick, just says "invalid institution".

9. (3) The schedule should be visible, sometimes the .ICA export from the new-innov website breaks down and stops working, so the daily schedule should be visible somewhere in the app.

10. I think with (1) and (2) it would be closer to a 4-star app, maybe 5 depending on how well they are implemented for example with GPS-based location logging.

11. Need to create a logger that ask one question at a time and can fluently move through all the criteria to log a patient.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix New Innovations Issues

1. Fix New Innovations Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart New Innovations: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the New Innovations App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "New Innovations" » Open New Innovations » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for New Innovations » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear New Innovations app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from New Innovations servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "New Innovations" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check New Innovations app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, New Innovations might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall New Innovations. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall New Innovations then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing New Innovations not working


2. Fix New Innovations Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make New Innovations be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to New Innovations not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, New Innovations may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
