Self-Check Customer Insights

1. I am assuming this is because immigration doesn't have me in the system yet.Useless. Does not take any picture of my passport (even though I tried in all ways possible) and does not send the OTP on my phone number (although I tried numerous times).

2. This is after not ever receiving the SMS verification code, and also getting a warning that states: "Your passport number does not match the entry list" despite having a visa already, and a flight due to depart on 3 days.

3. *Note that I am not in Korea and won't be for another two weeks so am also getting the error "Your passport number does not match entry list".

4. The developers might want to improve the app by letting select a file from the device that contains the details of the passport together with the picture, be it a PDF, jpeg or any other type of file.

5. How am I supposed to fill out the form to enter the country if your app doesn't even work? 🤷🏻 ♀️It did not send me an SMS verification and it did not allow me to sign.

6. Please update the app ASAP.The passport photography doesn't work and the signature box doesn't register anything.

7. Pull the app down until it works as well as other Korean products!!!Terrible The app cannot even take a passport picture and recognise.

8. What orientation - landscape or portrait? Both passport pages or just one picture page? An example would help a lot.

9. Can't take passport photos, no help, no instructions, and a bunch of poorly translated error messages.

10. Even worse; you can not manually write the passport number yourself.

11. More info beyond "Be careful not to reflect light" and "Please shoot on a dark floor" and "Passport recognition is incorrect.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Self-Check Issues

1. Fix Self-Check Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Self-Check: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Self-Check App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Self-Check" » Open Self-Check » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Self-Check » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Self-Check app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Self-Check servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Self-Check" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Self-Check app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Self-Check might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Self-Check. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Self-Check then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Self-Check not working


2. Fix Self-Check Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Self-Check be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Self-Check not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Self-Check may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
