What users are saying

1. This was my favorite Twitter app and I don't want to have to switch but I will have to if I can't retweet or like anything! EDIT: The issue happened again a month later and hasn't been fixed despite multiple updates and promises.

2. Update: The screen randomly turning on has persisted after uninstalling Plume, so I'm bumping up my rating a bit, as that was a misattributed problem. This used to be the BEST Twitter app, but for the past several months it's been crashing.

3. However, to end this review positively, their feature to have multiple columns is great. After WEEKS of tweet not sending (as mentioned in the "nice" reply from the dev that is related to the previous version of this review), now it's the images that refuse to be attach.

4. Seems every couple years they may get it to work for a few moments and then it malfunctions againI recently reinstalled this app so I could follow some people on twitter, and i remembered this was a good app a few years ago.

5. (And thanks to UberMedia for responding to my comment regarding attaching a pic to a new tweet -- while the Menu button isn't visible for me (it's just an empty space after the # and @), the menu does appear when I click there.) 👍I wasn't quite happy with it.

6. The app is clearly ignoring my update interval preference, causing undue battery drain, and since i installed it the screen on my phone is randomly turning on, about once an hour.

7. I've given up and switched to a different app, probably permanently.I've been using Plume - premium version - for years.

8. Since recent updates, it's been impossible to keep the app responsive with four twitter accounts added to it.

9. Try to attach an existing picture only text will be send... This application was ok a few years ago... now it's total trash.

10. Uninstalling and re-installing sometimes makes it work for a while - but now I'm getting a notification that the app has stopped, every ten minutes or so.

11. I cannot accept that many defects anymore.Update: Sadly, my favorite app was shut down by Twitter.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Plume Issues

1. Fix Plume Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart Plume: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Plume App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Plume" » Open Plume for Twitter » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Plume » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Plume for Twitter app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Plume servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Plume for Twitter" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Plume app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Plume might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Plume. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Plume then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Plume not working

2. Fix Plume Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Plume be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Plume not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Plume may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
