For the people who are writing about credit card info and cancellation problems: Holmez doesn't ask for this, the services you are talking about are third party providers that can be used with Holmez, so don't complain with Holmez (That is like complaining with Google for a service that you found searching with their engine)This is by far one of the best apps I've ever used for downloading files I mean the movie just plays automatically you don't even have to download anything that is so cool applications are easy to find this is by far the best app that I've seen for getting content off Usenet.Completely unusable.

2. I've cancelled my subscription and won't be back ! BE WARNED: VPN's ARE NOW BLOCKED ON HERE AND THE WEB BROWSER.....I can't get back into my account and access the data I've paid for and I'm certainly not ditching my VPN when on the net....These people are quite clearly scammers ! BE WARNED....THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS !Concerned this may be phishing? The app is just a web link to enter your usenet login.

3. Deleted right away.Buggy and and rotation in the app , or literally rotates the player ok eveey direction, I can't even loe down comfortably without my screen rotating in the most weird ways , please fix rotation of the screen to landscape only / portrait onlyAbsolutely appalling.....not fit for purpose.

4. It's very weird that they ask for credit card info BUT cancellation becomes a difficult issue because you have to call them if you want to cancel.

5. Epic fail.Holmez is a great Usenet search tool and cloud downloader, I really recommend it.

6. Even after finding the custom option and putting in my news server it's showing stuff that is not even available on my server and not showing the content OF my server.

7. Excuse me but it's a customer right to cancel an app subscription without talking to someone who'll try to convince them otherwise.

8. Display of threads is utterly useless, display if postings is crippled and 8bit encodings have severe issues.

9. Still keeps the single star for the highly un-intuative interface and user unfriendliness.Don't think about downloading this app.

10. Could not a way to tell it the address for my news server.

11. It won't allow you to cancel without talking to them.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Holmez Issues

1. Fix Holmez Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Holmez: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Holmez App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Holmez" » Open Holmez - Browse the Usenet » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Holmez » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Holmez - Browse the Usenet app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Holmez servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Holmez - Browse the Usenet" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Holmez app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Holmez might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Holmez. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Holmez then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Holmez not working


2. Fix Holmez Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Holmez be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Holmez not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Holmez may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
