2. I use it in conjunction with my cgm to correlate glucose spikes with food.Simply Perfect! It was important to me to find easy to use food diary without calorie counting or any sort of "rating" foods.

3. I love that it also has categories for tracking exercise, medications, supplements etc in addition to meals and snacks! I didn't want constant reminders or nudges that lots of apps have and this one only checks in with you if you haven't logged anything in 24 hours.

4. It makes it harder to read and understand the way they have it set up to export.If you need an easy food tracker then this app is great.

5. The ads are not invasive but I'm going to pay for the ad free just because I'm really appreciating the app.Simple and easy way to track your food.

9. It's the digital version of pen and paper when it comes to simply journaling your food, supplements and activities.

10. Calendar icon is broken, but I learned I can swipe left and right on the main screen to see previous days logs.

11. No food database, no calories nor portion sizes, unless you decide to type that in yourself.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Food Diary Issues

1. Fix Food Diary Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Food Diary: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Food Diary App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Food Diary" » Open Food Diary » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Food Diary » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Food Diary app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Food Diary servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Food Diary" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Food Diary app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Food Diary might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Food Diary. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Food Diary then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Food Diary not working


2. Fix Food Diary Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Food Diary be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Food Diary not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Food Diary may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
