1. Also Paramount what's up with the pop-up advertising when I pause my video? Really too bad because Paramount has the best shows on TV.User interface is frustrating as hell.. Have to start playing to backout and get information half the time, the playback controls are hit and miss, you will FF beyond where you think you FF to every single time (its as if the FF preview is about 20 steps behind the actual FF position) and it never saves your viewing progress - doesn't even save if you watched the episode of a series making it difficult to come back to shows.(Nvidia Shield Pro) App launches fine but when picking something to watch, it stops playing and goes back to the main screen after about 30 seconds.

2. Then to add more humiliation to that insult there are usually commercial messages during the programs, once again a cost on top of the monthly fee and the purchase price.The Paramount Plus app maybe the worst of the streaming apps, right now.

3. I have restarted my TV I have restarted my internet connection, I have the fastest Internet available and I am still getting constant errors that the video will not play.

4. By the time the ad is done, the screen goes total black and doesn't want to play the show.

5. Tried to rewind a program to replay a difficult to understand accent and the app threw me back to the top of the previous ad break.

6. If you back out of a show, it starts over; if you fast-forward to where you left off, it backs up to the previous ad break, forces you to watch ads again.

7. Very poor playback quality, especially if you needed rewind at all, it take, sometimes up 30 seconds to clear up the image.

8. When fast forwarding or rewinding the position thumbnails are either non-existent or do not correspond with your actual position.The Paramount Plus app does not do what it is supposed to.

9. I have tried everything to fix the issue restarted my TV restarting my modem my router and I've even tried the app through my Xbox series X.

10. Tells me to check my internet connection (which is hard wired) so I know that's not the issue.

11. When going to play a show the ad starts and immediately buffers non stop.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Paramount+ Issues

1. Fix Paramount+ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Paramount+: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Paramount+ App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Paramount+" » Open Paramount+ » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Paramount+ » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Paramount+ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Paramount+ servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Paramount+" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Paramount+ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Paramount+ might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Paramount+. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Paramount+ then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Paramount+ not working


2. Fix Paramount+ Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Paramount+ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Paramount+ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Paramount+ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
