1. I've given up several times lately and am reading a paper book for a while.Old version on my previous phone had an ebook download button that appeared after checkout.

2. When trying to download a book that had just become available from a hold, it kept telling me the book was not available and offering to place a hold.

3. It was super simple in the previous version; the current one takes a lot of clocks to find "due soon" and lots of waiting to render the listTerrible experience.

4. The theory of this app is awesome, the hold system, being able to check when your books are due back, etc... In practice it's a nightmare.

5. Once you finally figure out how to even check out the book, you are just put back to the original place to find by random searching what to do next.

6. Can't find that on the new version; had to hunt & peck before giving up and going into overdrive to download it.

7. Add to that the great number of subjects within every genre and very large numbers of books they purchase & select to order in every genre each month.

8. The hold system is great on theory, if it ever loaded.

9. The search system is great in theory, if it ever loaded.

10. Other sections (borrowing, shelves, ect) are moderately faster in the new version.It's very glitchy.

11. Maybe that's how they want it? Seems unintuitive and less user friendly, but what do I know? Apps still pretty slow, but mostly just the home page.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix KCLS Issues

1. Fix KCLS Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart KCLS: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the KCLS App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "KCLS" » Open KCLS » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for KCLS » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear KCLS app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from KCLS servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "KCLS" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check KCLS app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, KCLS might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall KCLS. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall KCLS then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing KCLS not working


2. Fix KCLS Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make KCLS be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to KCLS not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, KCLS may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
