1. Many other cool features like the BuddyBeacon (to alert others to your location in the event of an emergency), downloadable maps, and access to other people's routes make this a very cool app and a must for your outdoor adventures.Looks like it should be a great package, but after using for several months, buying additional maps, and features, well... it sucks.
2. This app is very good and the only real standalone gps app I could find tht lets you download maps and tracks to your watch so you do not need a internet or phone connection.
3. They obviously know that people use the maps in areas of poor signal so that renders the app useless for me when I need it.Pretty good app (especially when compared to OS maps).
4. Spent too much time find limitsYou can only save one offline map for a small area (I went on a trip to three different areas with limited data coverage; being able to save them all prior to the trip would have been nice.
5. So I guess when you pay, you're paying to create content for them? No thanks.Great app for tracking and creating routes! I subscribed to premium and the maps are nice.
6. I've got 128gb of storage, why limit maps at all? Of the three places I went, I only found one trail route where there were about a dozen trails.
7. Find myself using Google maps which is a very weak hiking app just so I can see accurately where I am.I got view Ranger because I was less than thrilled with the native mapping app on my Casio Protek.
8. Whereas the standard app only downloads one map at a time and only from mapbox which isn't always available, VR allows my to store multiple maps on the watch.
9. It appears you can pay for extra maps but not the app itsself Anyways very good app so farThis app used to be the best around for maps and outdoor pursuits.
10. I will still use this app for Backcountry navigating, but I'm going to have to rely on other means to keep track of distance and elevation.I tried several other hiking apps but eventually found that this one stood head and shoulders above the rest.
11. Also I can now no longer access offline maps that I have previously paid for as their new business model is subscription.
