PowerMic Customer Insights

1. On off button is slow to respond to clicks when time out Occurs.This app used to work fine for me on One UI 4.1 however I just installed the new One UI 5 upgrade and now I am not able to dictate properly.

2. Now works well.when I open the link the hospital provided, crashes the app each time in the galaxy 9 note 8 worked great.

3. I also love the text block feature.Good recognition of speech however does not work as well as the previous version of the app.

4. And this is after I've tried reinstalling app and clearing cache and data.I continue to be amazed how accurate the transcription is for even complex medical terms and the speed a which I can dictate even in ambient noise.

5. Thanks to a previous user/review - I uninstalled then reinstalled and went to apps in the Android settings - cleared the cache and storage.

6. So now completely unusable and I can't dictate unless I carry a USB mic with me at all times.After downloading app, I used my email from my work to get the URL I needed.

7. Disconnects from the computer more frequently times out quickly requiring you to click and unclick the speech recognition button again (Which is still green).

8. Yes, there are some transcription errors, but the app is so good that corrections are minimal and a fraction of the time it takes me to type.

9. The Android link on the Getting Started page sends me to an error page.

10. I then went to my Verizon store to see if they could help me ,but they could not get it to work either.

11. after i did clear my cache and data of the new installation, it worked great.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PowerMic Issues

1. Fix PowerMic Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PowerMic: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PowerMic App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PowerMic" » Open PowerMic Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PowerMic » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PowerMic Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PowerMic servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PowerMic Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PowerMic app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PowerMic might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PowerMic. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PowerMic then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PowerMic not working


2. Fix PowerMic Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PowerMic be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PowerMic not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PowerMic may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
