What users are saying

1. What's more it is unique in its operation as a "manually operated firewall." If you want to speed up your system, save wasted data time, free up space in your Ram, control what apps can access internet, quarantine apps to find the pop-up offender and more, this is the one you need.

2. is a helpful resource allowing the user to selectively filter the data stream of interference from unwelcome sources, screens out and identifies unlisted apps, and allows the user to exercise discretion over network &/or wi-fi usage by everyone (just yes or no, not how much though.) It takes a little thought & practice to use appropriately however, and it needs to be completely turned off while running downloads, uploads, etc.

3. Two stars instead of one because when it is working, it works greatThis app, viewed in a line up of all manner of system operation and maintenance applications, in my expert opinion, would be in the top 3 of all apps user installed and, a contender for the No.1 best.

4. Some apps require the internet to function so it won't work for those but all other apps works great.

5. Now, several times a day, it freezes, blocks my data connections, and i have to force close and restart, after turning on airplane mode of course, so the other apps don't have a window to call home indiscriminately.

6. Also, the notifications are constant (I mean every constant) for apps I haven't blocked accessing network, until you turn them off in Android settings.

7. Eventually, it just turns into "Let's see how many things this new app is going to try to connect to".So far, it seems to work great for blocking ads on apps.

8. The only real disadvantage is since it uses the built-in VPN data channeling function, you cannot use an actual VPN at the same time as this firewall. This app.

9. I would like to be able to create profiles so we can turn off access to all but a select few apps and then be able to return to a more open profile later.

10. There may be an easy way to let everything through and then go and disable the specific apps but I'm too lazy to figure it out.First off... awesome app.

11. I don't need to know what unblocked apps are doing every second.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix NoRoot Firewall Issues

1. Fix NoRoot Firewall Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart NoRoot Firewall: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the NoRoot Firewall App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "NoRoot Firewall" » Open NoRoot Firewall » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for NoRoot Firewall » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear NoRoot Firewall app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from NoRoot Firewall servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "NoRoot Firewall" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check NoRoot Firewall app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, NoRoot Firewall might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall NoRoot Firewall. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall NoRoot Firewall then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing NoRoot Firewall not working

2. Fix NoRoot Firewall Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make NoRoot Firewall be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to NoRoot Firewall not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, NoRoot Firewall may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

Have used for a long time and really impressed. I just upgrad3d to android 12 on a new galaxy tab s8 10.5. The transition went well pulling all the configuration data across to new system. However, the system no longer auto starts on boot. Do not know how much is slipping out. Eternally great full is this is fixed.... Where is it possible to donate to cause? Regards Terry
