1. A massive jump in the right direction though.App always crashes telling you you've no active tickets when you do, its a nightmare especially when you're just about to get on the bus, this morning the app isn't working at all, cant get into it to buy a ticket.Keeps on crashing all the time.

2. We had no idea this app was so bad or we wouldve rented a car.Extremely poor design Cannot purchase a ticket for multiple people on the one device, and have them activated at the same time.

3. This still doesn't guarantee that it'll actually open when the bus arrives but it gives you the opportunity to reinstall the app which sometimes resolves the issue (once again, great feature).I use this app to buy metro day passes and on several occasions the app will refuse to launch.

4. Well there wasn't a bank issue before the update so... I've gone into my bank to see if there was a request sitting to allow translink to use my card and there wasn't so definitely a translink app issue.

5. It seems to happen after a certain amount of time after installing the app, the only way to resolve this is to reinstall which will also lose you access to any tickets.

6. Ticket dissappears, causing user to restart phone.

7. Rail ticket auto activation is slightly annoying, as the ticket only stays valid for 150 minutes.

8. Would be an excellent time for Translink to invest in a singular, high quality app instead of the several broken ones that currently exist.

9. Apparently we didn't "activate" the ticket we bought and paid for, so it completely wiped it from the app.

10. Sometimes, I have to buy another ticket because the app won't work!Love it when the app keeps crashing when you're about to get on the bus.

11. Handy feature is being able to gift tickets via phone number.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Translink mLink Issues

1. Fix Translink mLink Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Translink mLink: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Translink mLink App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Translink mLink" » Open Translink mLink » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Translink mLink » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Translink mLink app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Translink mLink servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Translink mLink" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Translink mLink app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Translink mLink might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Translink mLink. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Translink mLink then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Translink mLink not working


2. Fix Translink mLink Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Translink mLink be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Translink mLink not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Translink mLink may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

I wish for my daughters Translink MLink account to be deleted as, because she has forgotten her MLink account password and associated email account password, is unable to gain access to MLink or reset the password. I purchased 2 single tickets for my son going and coming back from school today. Tickets were purchased at around 9pm last night. When we checked and trying to activate this morning at 7. Both tickets were expired at 00:45 without us doing anything or clicking to activate the tickets.Receipt Ref :hxlVSuJklgy-£2.10

Why when I activate my weekly ticket does it only give me 6 days and 21 hours and not 6 days and 23 hours? That means if I activate at the wrong time I would have to pay for an extra trip during that week. 156 hours per year.

As I was setting up the app, I selected my birth year incorrectly and am now unable to purchase a child's ticket even though I am still a child. According to the GDPR I have a right to request that my account and any of my personal data be deleted due to my 'right to erasure'. If my data and account are not deleted then there will be a penalty fine of £6326.

A ticket of mine activated without my permisson it was a single child off peak ticket i could activate it anytime after half 9 am and before half 9 pm but it activated at 23:14 and atm im sending u the complaint at 22:28 idk how thats possible my other tickets i bought which i can activate when i need r fine i need a refund for the child metro offpeak cuz it activated without me clicking it

Hello. Can someone help me urgently. I purchased a train ticket for travel on friday via mlink. However when I go to view my ticket, I am told it will expire in roughly 11 hours and minutes . Do I need to apply for a refund and repurchase a new ticket or what else can I do. If at all possible could someone please contact me today or tomorrow morning so I can take action . I bought a return day ticket from City hospital station Belfast to Portrush yesterday 31st August at 11.24am Receipt number oQLEtUvttQI I boarded the 12.13 train and then my mlink app refused to launch. I couldn't show my ticket to the conductor, I phoned translink but they said I would have to pay again and apply for a refund. I haven't had a problem with the app before but I don't think I'll be using it again it was quite embarrassing
