1. Since the option to play offline was rolled out, the puzzle menu doesn't load for about 30 seconds and then flickers into being like it's the TARDIS traveling through time.All of a sudden the Times Live app just says "Login Failed" on one of our mobiles when we try to use it - we have temporarily circumvented the problem by accessing via Chrome, but not ideal! Any ideas? We have tried deleting the app and reinstalling it, also switching off the mobile - neither solutions work.

2. Clicking to view the epaper redirects you to the website, so why bother with an app? Such a shame as the (discontinued) Classic app was a unique, enjoyable experience compared to this rubbish - you'll almost certainly delete it within an hour of downloading it and use the website insteadIncreasing amount of typos and grammar errors but he really consistent if London centric.

3. (Please add a search feature.)You have made the Polygon unplayable! On my Android tablet, in portrait mode the answers (now in drop down form) obscure the polygon.

4. If there is indeed search functionality that is simply hidden in a particularly strange place in the interface—or if it is added in the near future—I would be happy to revise my rating to 5-stars, and would be even happier that I could start using this app, rather than just the web interface.

5. However, finding specific articles or even just slightly older articles is near impossible to accomplish through the app's interface, especially given that it lacks a search feature.

6. So I had to subscribe from the website after unsubscribing the Google Play subscription.

7. Keeps on crashing, and mainly addsThe app has been going steadily downhill, and is becoming annoying enough I'm seriously considering cancelling my subscription.

8. Sound seems ok but intermittent video.The comments section does not notify you when someone replies to you if you use Google.

9. If you switch from landscape to portrait or vice versa, your answers are lost.

10. It works just fine for reading the most recent random articles that one comes across while browsing.

11. Not good enough.Terrible app - almost unusable user experience, with half the screen in landscape dominated by a header bar.

  4. Check The Times app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, The Times might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall The Times. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall The Times then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing The Times not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make The Times be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to The Times not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, The Times may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
