Fios TV Customer Insights

1. Absolutely a disaster - Go for Direct TV or ComcastI didn't think they could make the app any worse, but fios sure did! Dvr doesn't show up for first 3 minutes, can't switch from device to tv, can't get program info, can't pause show for over 10 minutes or it stops, can't jump to desired channel, the guide is horrible, and the app heats up my phone to a dangerous temperature.

2. First off - HOW DO YOU GET THE AUTOPLAY NOT TO PLAY? Every time I go into a show - which was not necessary with the prior version - and record - which could be done FROM the guide in the prior version - I am returned to the guide screen and the stream plays again.

3. I'm already paying for the service, I don't know why I'm being forced to watch ads while trying to use the app.Fix Playback! 4/5/23 Update: Finally they listened to everyone! They created an area for dvr and allowed you to turn off the auto play weather when you looked for a show.

4. this new Fios TV app is a piece of garbage - the old app worked very well and this one wont allow you to watch DVR content unless you connected to your home Wi-Fi network!!!!!!!!!!!!! That defeats the purpose of being able to watch your recorded programs where ever you are - if i'm home i can just watch on the TV.

5. You need to scroll endlessly through the guide to find what is on or to try to set up a show recording.

6. The only way to make the skip work again is to close the program and open it again and the app then places you at the very beginning of the recording - sucks.In my opinion, this app is one of the reasons everyone is leaving traditional cable TV for streaming services.

7. Try to skip ahead and the app goes haywire and just throws you 30 mins ahead in the show.Far preferred the previous version, which made it very easy to manage recordings from the app.

8. I do appreciate being able to delete DVR content from the app; I miss being able to delete a bunch of shows from a folder at the same time.

9. Old version used to tell you on the guide the teams playing on the sports channels.

10. Watching shows out of home I keep getting errors (in the middle of the episode that I need to be on home WiFi to watch a DVR show).

11. I also miss being able to see a synopsis of recorded shows on the app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Fios TV Issues

1. Fix Fios TV Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Fios TV: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Fios TV App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Fios TV" » Open Fios TV Mobile » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Fios TV » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Fios TV Mobile app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Fios TV servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Fios TV Mobile" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Fios TV app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Fios TV might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Fios TV. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Fios TV then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Fios TV not working


2. Fix Fios TV Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Fios TV be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Fios TV not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Fios TV may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
