FreeCast SelectTV Customer Insights

1. Unfortunately the app is slow, does not display full listings of shows and movies, and has bugs (for example, when trying to enter in a birth day and year, you cannot select numbers after what is originally displayed on the dropdown menu).

2. Some categories need to go though a change, occasionally, to "freshen up", otherwise a great alternative to the tired competition.This app does not work on the latest Android TV OS version (12) for the Chromecast Ultra.

3. I had similar problems in random places everywhere in the app.Terrible, C grade movies and TV, not even B movies, which makes it even worse when you consider that this is a subscription service.

4. Don't waste your time on this oneĀ”!!!!!!!First the guide is very slow to load on ALL devices & when it does, i usually can only see 1 word of the title even on my TV.

5. Also, when trying to cancel the 7 day trial, there is no option even though support says there is.

6. The SelectTV app is clearly the problem.Don't even try to download this app for a trial because when you go to cancel your trial they make it so impossible that it's not even funny.

7. I was able to swipe left the card with the service name but can't select the add or more info fields.

8. I also cant see whats playing next, the guide wont respond ( scrolling to next show) to my remote.

9. DONT USE THIS APP!!!!Complete Garbage!!!!!!!! This thing is completely worthless!!! You can't watch anything for more then a few minutes and it freezes up and says "This Channel can't be played".

10. The video buffers often which does not happen with other streaming services I've used, so its not my internet!Extremely buggy.

11. It worked prior to updating, and still works on a Chromecast Ultra with the previous OS version.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix FreeCast SelectTV Issues

1. Fix FreeCast SelectTV Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart FreeCast SelectTV: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the FreeCast SelectTV App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "FreeCast SelectTV" » Open FreeCast SelectTV » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for FreeCast SelectTV » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear FreeCast SelectTV app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from FreeCast SelectTV servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "FreeCast SelectTV" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check FreeCast SelectTV app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, FreeCast SelectTV might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall FreeCast SelectTV. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall FreeCast SelectTV then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing FreeCast SelectTV not working


2. Fix FreeCast SelectTV Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make FreeCast SelectTV be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to FreeCast SelectTV not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, FreeCast SelectTV may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
