HTH Customer Insights

1. I've tried the text system but my results are drastically different with the colors being relatively the same so I have no idea if my pool is safe and now have to buy new strips since it's impossible to get anything about these to make sense or work correctly.seems good.

2. Where is the function to automatically hold the test strips up to my camera lens and have it tell me the results? If a result is out of range, hitting the "Get Treatment Plan" link underneath it takes a few minutes before a couple of HTH product ads pop up.

3. Waste of time!I can enter my test strip info and see the results but when I click on the "see recommendations" the app stops and closes.

4. also i keep getting an error message after i submit the test strip results.

5. the test strip text line does not work either.Password, really!! You never needed a password for this app until the latest update, now you do, what for I really don't know.

6. It has no functionality other than to give you a phone number to text a pic of your test strip to, which makes it useless.

7. So I just clicked to test water and entered the test strip results.

8. So I created another, couldn't get past the first page, kept getting a "null" error message.First off, it's not a water testing app.

9. Make the test strips color boxes the same size as the test strips so I don't have to scroll my screen.

10. Two weeks ago I make an account and now I'm standing out in the cold unable to test my water because the app won't let me in.

11. I wouldn't say it's completely useless because I can see what is too high/low.Like everyone else said, the registration page is broken and it seems like they just redirect you to a website to do the checking regardless so the app doesn't really have any value as far as I see it.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix HTH Issues

1. Fix HTH Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart HTH: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the HTH App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "HTH" » Open HTH® Test to Swim® water testi » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for HTH » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear HTH® Test to Swim® water testi app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from HTH servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "HTH® Test to Swim® water testi" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check HTH app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, HTH might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall HTH. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall HTH then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing HTH not working


2. Fix HTH Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make HTH be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to HTH not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, HTH may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
