1. In 8 months I can develop a new app not fixing a small problem like thatI love the Longman dictionary but this app is a total flop! Aside from the freezing problem when downloading/extracting the extra media files, the search engine is incredibly bad - you can only find words by typing the whole thing without spelling errors otherwise the app wouldn't show you close matches by partially typing the word.

2. This version is clearly worse than LDOCE 5, sorry for that! It has been several years that I am a fan of Longman dictionary, but this version really sucks! Can you please return its user interface to the version 5! It was perfect! With this new version, the installation is horribly long and non-ending! and when you can install it on your android phone, then you find it worse than version 5! Before the arrival of version 6, Longman was standing at the top! But it craches now! Horrible!There is something clearly wrong with the installation package.

However, I recently changed phone, forced to update it and with great disappointment I found out the pronunciation buttons are not clickable anymore 😫 I found them so useful for a non native English speaker.What a great app! This is the best dictionary app ever been on Google Play or Apple Store.

A rich blend of linguistic tools including thesaurus, grammar assistance, analogy with corresponding pictures, UK and US pronunciation, embraced tables, illustrative patterns and handpicked diverse range of examples to help users fully comprehend the word’s meaning and uses.It was the best dictionary.

6. I am using a Sony Xperia XZ with Android 8.0.0. The app kept claiming to extract media files, but nothing was happening even after a long time (like 15 minutes?), so I had to close the app.

7. See my edit history to see another unresolved problem.App seems like it has locked up after installing, but give it a few minutes, once the media files have extracted (nearly 2GB in size!!!) the app works well.

11. The thing that fixed it was to go to Settings > Apps & notifications > App info and select LDOCE 6, FORCE STOP the app, then click on Storage and CLEAR DATA and CLEAR CACHE.
