1. Paid $500 for the GDS device and there is zero support for this!When it works its not bad but there have been too many times where I try to answer a call and it errors and doesnt work, have missed deliveries because of it.

2. Definitely consider upgrading from gen2 to gen3 so you can use the new Doordeer app.Easy to use, video connection is very fast.Very easy to use, customer support is very helpful!This app is really sharp.It helps me manage my house remotely.

3. My apartment complex chose to use a door management system that requires a subscription to use the features.

4. I enjoy using the product and the app.Pathetic! Basic features don't work! My phone doesn't ring at all when someone calls.

5. The app is full of popups to get users to pay just so they can use the features of the front door.

6. A fob and standard call box would have been so much better that this system.Very good system.

7. The door passcodes have to be navigated to and are not immediately available on the main page.

8. Hopefully one day it works with Google homeAs an upgrade from their former ControlCam2 app, this is far superior.

9. This product feels like a huge money grab.

10. Reliability was a big issue both in their previous generation of IP doorbell and in the app.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Doordeer Issues

1. Fix Doordeer Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Doordeer: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Doordeer App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Doordeer" » Open Doordeer » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Doordeer » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Doordeer app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Doordeer servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Doordeer" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Doordeer app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Doordeer might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Doordeer. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Doordeer then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Doordeer not working


2. Fix Doordeer Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Doordeer be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Doordeer not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Doordeer may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • i have subscribed to the 365 days plan through my cell phone and received the confirmation receipt to my email address, but the app on my phone is still telling me i must subscribe to proceed. please let me know what i need to do to update the system so it can be used. right now it is not working at all.

  • Hello, I live at 7110 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield MI 48322 and we use doordeer as the app to unlock the apartment doors. I began my lease in April and my app now says it is expired for the cloud service as of June 2022. I spoke with the property manager and she mentioned the apartment complex pays for the service and I should not have to purchase the cloud service and the app should not be expired. Is there a way to extend the app cloud service so it is no longer expired? Please advise. Lauren Solano

  • Hi, My cloud plan Expiration Time:2022-09-17 17:42:45. but today 2/18 I received an email below , it this scam ? thanks!
