1. amazing weather, unusual for late October, northern lights, beautiful scenery, friendly interesting staff, especially Amanda and Marie.I used the app extensively on the Antarctic Xmas cruise and it worked well all considered and massively reduced paper waste (compared to an appless previous cruise with Hurtigruten).

2. When restaurant manager says (forcefully) you 'must' use it to choose your time caused a little 'friction'😳 ... My(equally forceful) response "I choose now" seemed to achieve clarity!😁we had a fantastic time.

3. You need to be on board before it will work? Totally useless, the app shows you can add trips but you cannot.It never progresses beyond an infuriating message, "We're looking for the ship".

4. 4 stars only because of the lack of missing basic calendar features: no notifications and no ability to mark events of interest.Most useless and frustrating app I have ever encountered.

5. I'm sitting on the top deck and plumbed into the ship's wifi, it's not hard to find!Dreadful.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Hurtigruten Issues

1. Fix Hurtigruten Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Hurtigruten: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Hurtigruten App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Hurtigruten" » Open Hurtigruten » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Hurtigruten » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Hurtigruten app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Hurtigruten servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Hurtigruten" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Hurtigruten app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Hurtigruten might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Hurtigruten. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Hurtigruten then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Hurtigruten not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Hurtigruten be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Hurtigruten not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Hurtigruten may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
