1. NOT BY SLIDING A FINGER ALONG A SPACEBAR GBOARD!!It's good for hiragana save for small characters (i.e. ょ, っ, etc), but using it for katakana and kanji is nearly impossible unless what you're looking for shows up in the suggestions.

1. Fix Google Japanese Input Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Google Japanese Input: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Google Japanese Input App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Google Japanese Input" » Open Google Japanese Input » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Google Japanese Input » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Google Japanese Input app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Google Japanese Input servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Google Japanese Input" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Google Japanese Input app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Google Japanese Input might not work.
