What users are saying

1. Rebooting didn't change anything.Keeps cutting off the shows on my Android for no reason, then if I hit play the screen is blank, have to leave episode go back to main screen and hit play again before video plays again.

2. No problem with casting, only viewing on the phone.Won't expand to fill screen on new Lenovo Tablet.

3. Pressing play to resume is not an option as this results in a black screen with sound only at best.

4. Being unable to do either split screen or moving to another app and having britbox play in a separate window is really dissatisfying.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix BritBox Issues

1. Fix BritBox Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart BritBox: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the BritBox App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "BritBox" » Open BritBox: Brilliant British TV » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for BritBox » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear BritBox: Brilliant British TV app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from BritBox servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "BritBox: Brilliant British TV" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check BritBox app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, BritBox might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall BritBox. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall BritBox then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing BritBox not working


2. Fix BritBox Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make BritBox be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to BritBox not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, BritBox may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
