What users are saying

1. Functional app overall, just these two things that are bothersome.Checkout is super buggy, reloads the screen every time you click something and doesn't save the info you already entered except the credit card info which makes it SUPER easy to accidentally double charge.

2. After having to force stop and reload the app to even begin checkout, I tried to enter my credit card info only to find that the CVV field only accepts 3 digits.

3. I had a digital gift code and I copy pasted it, and it wouldn't accept the gift card until I typed it out one digit at a time.App is pretty easy to use.

4. It seems to have other issues too, but these are the main ones I'm having.The experience browsing and shopping is fine, I didn't have any issues with it.

5. If they don't fix this issue (this has happened multiple times, over multiple purchases, over several YEARS) I won't be ordering through the app again, and probably won't order from AE at all anymore.I like the ease of being able to find the clothes and deals easily.

6. Some issues I find annoying: - to search an item, it seems like I have to go back, back, back to the main page from where I was, and then search.

7. Either not loading, giving me an error trying to sign in, or my favorite when I try to check out and it tells me to choose the correct country and will not use the shipping address I have had saved for years at this point.

8. Additionally, the gift card section doesn't properly accept the code unless you manually type it in.

9. Nothing but new, consistent issues each time I use it.The app was working super well before, but now it's glitching constantly.

10. - when people post a pic in their review, I'm unable to click on the thumbnail to view a larger image, thus not being able to clearly see the pic very clearly.

11. I tried to check out the other day and the app was just flashing and glitching and wouldn't let me do anything, I had to use the website on my browser to check out.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix AE + Aerie Issues

1. Fix AE + Aerie Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart AE + Aerie: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the AE + Aerie App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "AE + Aerie" » Open AE + Aerie » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for AE + Aerie » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear AE + Aerie app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from AE + Aerie servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "AE + Aerie" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check AE + Aerie app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, AE + Aerie might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall AE + Aerie. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall AE + Aerie then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing AE + Aerie not working


2. Fix AE + Aerie Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make AE + Aerie be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to AE + Aerie not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, AE + Aerie may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
