Funimation Customer Insights

1. Sometimes it will randomly skip to the next episode of the show I am watching during this whole process of trying to get it to play.I love watching the shows but I hate that it freezes a LOT! Half the time I'm waiting on it to load, doesn't matter if I'm on wifi or using my phone data on 5g network or using my Fire TV.

2. Refunds need to be given.I purchased a Blu-ray with a Digital copy of a show on Funimation, but the app is unable to play every episode on my tablet.

3. I have this app on my phone and my laptop and it's nearly impossible to watch anything with it stopping to load every 2 minutes even with good connection.

4. Fix this problem nowI thought this would be a good app to try but... it takes 2 hrs to watch a 30 minute episode.

5. There are other issues with the app, like it being buggy and slow which I might consider forgivable, but the fact that something I purchased doesn't even work is infuriating.

6. Occasionally I have to close and open and try to play an episode three times before it plays.

7. Video will sit for a good 5 minutes before it'll try to play AND then it's 3 ads back to back even tho I have a premium subscription.

8. I have to close the app open it back up and then sometimes it will play the episode.

9. Literally anything I do, from switching to a messenger app, to skipping forward 10 seconds, to try and pause or play the video, it all causes it to freeze.

10. On top of that, I have made multiple attempts to contact technical support, but have not even received a response.Very rough experience, it worked better when I used it 2 years ago.

11. Others having this issue constantly have to contact customer support to get the issue fixed + log out & into their accounts.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Funimation Issues

1. Fix Funimation Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Funimation: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Funimation App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Funimation" » Open Funimation » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Funimation » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Funimation app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Funimation servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Funimation" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Funimation app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Funimation might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Funimation. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Funimation then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Funimation not working


2. Fix Funimation Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Funimation be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Funimation not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Funimation may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I purchased a year subscription last week and when I try to watch a video it says for me to buy a subscription and I paid 60 for a year I tried to get in touch with you about it but no one answered through email or twitter my account is chancjr@redacted and the email I am sending this through is seminaryfam@redacted please help
