1. And the app really requires the ability to send messages I've been with this app since before it was an app, just a cool instagram account, and I love that it's maintained its integrity! And for the people who might be annoyed at the lack of photos: this app is meant to emulate old-school personal ads that were in newspapers like the Village Voice, so a level of anonymity is part of it!While I love the concept of this app it just is not a functional app.

I have to type my messages out in other apps and copy and past them back in and even then it still works less than half the time.It used to be a great app but ever since the update to the new look the messaging feature doesn't actually work, you can only post and see posts, which is incredibly inefficient for communication.

3. Whether people have left due to the years-long messaging lag issue, the overhaul of a redesign, and/or the switch to watered down, advertiser friendly platonic focus, the app is functionally dead.absolutely wondeful app for finding other trans and queer ppl locally.

4. The bright blue and yellow is unlike most everything other apps are using! I liked the blocky layout! it was so unique and nostalgic but now it feels more corporate, less underground fun, and GOD I Do Not like the new green.

5. This happens because the notification pop up for when you have no posts left continues to appear after tapping it off, on ALL TABS except your list of messages.

6. It randomly deletes my messages, it double posts messages constantly, it freezes in the middle of when I'm typing and crashes.

7. The beautiful yet simple serifs are gone, and in their place more generic style I'm used to from other dating apps.

8. They also continue to work on the visuals while not fixing underlying issues with the chat and posts functions.

9. Now it feels like it's unfinishedUpdate: I still love lex but the messaging functional is almost useless due to constant crashing.

10. The 6 posts per month thing may seem annoying at first, but that's plenty for me and it helps avoid spam.

11. but recently they updated the UI to have a horrible green color and made it look a lot less personal and a lot more "default modern UI".very gross visuals now.

1. Fix Lex Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart Lex: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Lex App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Lex" » Open Lex: Queer & LGBTQ+ Friends » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Lex » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Lex: Queer & LGBTQ+ Friends app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Lex servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Lex: Queer & LGBTQ+ Friends" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Lex app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Lex might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Lex. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Lex then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Lex not working

2. Fix Lex Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Lex be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Lex not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Lex may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
