About Pixel Filter

1. Decrease screen brightness below minimum level, by turning off individual pixels.

2. Screen pattern is shifted each 5 minutes to prevent uneven pixel wear-out.

3. Save battery on newer AMOLED screens - they will turn off black pixels completely.

4. This way the screen contrast is kept at the same level.

5. This app has limited functionality on Android 7 and newer, it cannot dim system buttons and notification area, because of new security model in Android 7.

Pixel Filter Customer Insights

1. However, the app crashes every time the screen rotates, even when the filter is not active.Works and customizing your own filter is free compared to the others however it seems to be causing random ghost touches which I sadly have to stop using this in a mere 30 minutes.

2. Example i had Pixel Filter on and went to settings > apps and chose an app to uninstall and it asked me and I touched the dim OK and it uninstalled the app! Also I can turn off the notification but I like it because when I expand it I can tap Configure and it brings up the Pixel Filter app!! Thank you for a great free app.Broken on pixel 6 pro.

3. No ads that I've noticed, and works fine on my old cheap phone even when rotating the screen.I do like the filter itself and the notification with the option to quickly turn off more or less pixels.

4. After my current Pixel 3a XL got updated to Android 12, the pixel filter makes the touch screen useless.

5. After I light up the screen then dim it with pixel filter, the pain of my eyes gone, even after few hours use.

6. Also, the options to make the notification "less visible" doesn't work on my phone.Works great for me on Nougat 7.1.1 the settings tile was an unexpected bonus! And I still can do everything with it on such as using the OK to verify.

7. But i am completely unable to use my phone when the filter is enabled on my pixel, none of the touches will register... Please fix this, I've always loved this app and would pay money for an improved version.

8. Occasionally I use both this and Screen Filter at the same time if I really want the screen to be dark.I've been using this app for so long, I take it for granted.

9. Update 2/3/20: Certain custom mesh such as my scanline custom mesh can cause the ghost touching at random times however using the presets remedy the issue.Due to no update since 2018, lots of bugs for this app now.

10. Putting this at 50% and changing the interval to 15 secs alleviated that.It would be better if it could cover the status bar, on-screen navbar, notification panel and other areas of the device so my device doesn't get burn in on those areas.

11. Looking forward to an update or a response to fix.A handy little app for dimming the screen through dithering/half-tones rather than just a transparent black overlay.
