I would pay 3x the amount).I've been using this app to track hours for 4 years now, it's terrific in that it focuses on the quantity (in time spent) rather than frequency (alot of other apps use daily checkins as a measure) which to me is extremely helpful in that I can get a better gage for my practicing progress and see the difference between spending 10min or 2hrs... My only complaint, as echoed by other reviews is that the backup system cannot be trusted, it's devastating to loose data after years of tracking.I really like this app...BUT I have to give it a low review.

2. Please let me know if you are still working on it and I will increase my star ratingHi😊, app is Excellent, My Friends also purchased pro version, but where it backup? Like Drive, Dropbox, where? Since we are not able to see progress on another device! We are afraid that if we lost our phone all progress will be gone! And how you calculate levels, Like how many levels are in Novice, Newbie & sub levels like Newbie, Novice, Etc? 😊Mastery is great for motivating myself, keeping track of my day, and giving myself goals to work towards.

3. Overall great app.I would love to keep using this app, but I'm a bit concerned that it hasn't been updated in 3 years, and the backup system mentioned by other reviewers might still not be working... I don't want to lose my data.

4. I easily located the backup file in my phone's internal memory and saved it to Google drive.

5. This app has all the assets you'd need to build a self-sustained activity-reward system to track skill progression over time.

6. 2 things needed: backup to cloud (Google Drive, etc).

7. It also would be good to have some sort of indication of how many levels there are and where you are up to (e.g., novice, newbie), and some sort of homepage.

8. Also, if a timer is running and user returns to the app later to stop timer - resume on the timer screen (vs opening the main menu every time).

9. Sadly, I must find an app that is more reliable in backing up data.Love this app.

10. If your phone dies or needs to be factory reset, you lose EVERYTHING.

11. I've kept it for over two years and on two different phones, and it's been amazing.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Mastery Issues

1. Fix Mastery Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Mastery: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Mastery App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Mastery" » Open Mastery » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Mastery » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Mastery app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Mastery servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Mastery" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Mastery app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Mastery might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Mastery. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Mastery then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Mastery not working


2. Fix Mastery Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Mastery be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Mastery not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Mastery may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I respectfully request my subscription be canceled immediately. In addition I request I am refunded immediately for charges billed in June, July, and Oct for a total of $180. I originally removed this app from my phone back in April and canceled the subscription with apple. However, I am still being charged. This is fraudulent as I did not approve this transaction.

  • I have been paying a monthly subscription to whatever this app is and I’ve not been able to cancel as it’s not showing up in my subscriptions on my phone. I don’t know what the app is but I’d like to have my subscription canceled.

  • I thought I cancelled this subscription several months ago but I still see I have been charged to my account a fee once again. Please kindly discontinue my account. This will be recorded, and if you don't cancel it I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
