1. There were some minor issues a few months ago where it missed a holiday schedule and got confused about which week was recycling, but someone on their development team appears to be monitoring AND fixing those issues (rare these days!) and now everything works perfectly! Outstanding job Waste Connections team!!Over 3wks to get a refund to an accidental charge, lack of communication until I left a 1 star review.

2. I really don't need this app if it can't keep track of holiday schedule deviations.LOVE this app! We get a reminder the night before and it tells us each time whether it's a trash or recycling pickup.

3. It removes any uncertainty concerning the removal of household waste.Nice. Been using the app for a few months and the pickup reminder is great - but it recently hasnt notified me the last 2 weeks.

4. Accidentally made/was charged twice for the same bill & still haven't been refunded the amount yet.It's great having the trash pick up schedule right at my fingertips.

5. Update- the app crashes when I try to search something in the 'waste wizard' which makes the feature unusable.My main reason for downloading this app was to be notified of changes in schedule due to holidays.

6. It gives me a notification the day before trash pickup which is very helpful when I completely forget about it, or when I'm not sure what day pick up is because of a holiday.

7. I was notified the night before, on my NORMAL trash pickup schedule.

8. It reminds me when trash pickup is and lets me comment on any issues, and they fix the issues in a reasonable time frame.

9. Still waiting for a general question response about raccoons for weeks.I'd like to view my bill on the waste connection site not be sent to another site where I have to set up another account.

10. AND, we never have to guess about changes in schedule due to holidays! Everything is right there at our fingertips.

11. One message says pickup is delayed but the other says it's on the normal day.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix WasteConnect Issues

1. Fix WasteConnect Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart WasteConnect: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the WasteConnect App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "WasteConnect" » Open WasteConnect » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for WasteConnect » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear WasteConnect app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from WasteConnect servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "WasteConnect" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check WasteConnect app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, WasteConnect might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall WasteConnect. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall WasteConnect then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing WasteConnect not working


2. Fix WasteConnect Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make WasteConnect be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to WasteConnect not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, WasteConnect may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
