1. This forces me to manually edit each book I import if I want to be able to search for it in my collection or something.Works great with FBreader premium on my Android 6 tablet.

2. Useful but...the thumbnails are so small I cannot see them! So far I have been unable to find any settings to change the size.I had problems with this and eventually found a simple solution, you need to conect to the wifi of the router your pc is connected to, helps!Not perfect but the best of Ubuntu e-readers.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix FBReader Issues

1. Fix FBReader Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart FBReader: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the FBReader App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "FBReader" » Open FBReader: Calibre connection » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for FBReader » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear FBReader: Calibre connection app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from FBReader servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "FBReader: Calibre connection" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check FBReader app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, FBReader might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall FBReader. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall FBReader then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing FBReader not working


2. Fix FBReader Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make FBReader be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to FBReader not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, FBReader may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
