1. Unfortunately it has a few unnecessary design flaws that make it not perfect such as: - Search option only in authors name not book title or description... - Filter option doesn't allow to filter "no value" (e.g. books without rating or tag) or do logical conjugation - Book detail doesn't contain important metadata such as book description or publication date...I couldn't get the Dropbox or the Google Drive working.

2. I use my computer to download books for the library but use my phone to read them so a cloud based library removes steps.

3. Stuck on the choose library location screenWon't connect to my Dropbox Calibre library, even though I can point the app to my Dropbox Calibre library.

4. Only gave 4 stars since I'm unable to sort - descending so need to go to the library end every time.The developer can do the greatest good by removing this app from app store.

6. The modify date for the author folders on my reader is 12/31/69 so I'm unable to sort the books to the most recent upload so I have to constantly check on my computer for newly added books which this app fixes.

7. I've got it solely because it's so good for working with my Google drive based library, but it's not signing in again this update.

8. But nothing newly added shows up.I use this app very often and I really love the option to go through my library and easily download any book I want.

9. It does connect to Dropbox and even pretends to sync but nothing happens and it either eventually reverts to a cloud sign up screen or just crashes... What a waste of time.

10. I have over 300 books in each library so syncing does take a while.

11. Plus I accidentally deleted my entire Calibre library.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Calibre-go Issues

1. Fix Calibre-go Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Calibre-go: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Calibre-go App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Calibre-go" » Open Calibre-go » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Calibre-go » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Calibre-go app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Calibre-go servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Calibre-go" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Calibre-go app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Calibre-go might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Calibre-go. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Calibre-go then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Calibre-go not working


2. Fix Calibre-go Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Calibre-go be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Calibre-go not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Calibre-go may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
