1. When the French version was updated in 1973, the changes were used to revise the Jerusalem Bible, creating the New Jerusalem Bible.
2. The New Jerusalem Catholic Bible is an update to the Jerusalem Bible, an English version of the French Bible de Jérusalem.
3. The New Jerusalem Bible (NJB) is approved for use by Roman Catholics.
4. The revised version is said to be less literary but, for the most part, more literal.
5. The revisions were substantial.
6. The introductions and footnotes, translated almost entirely from the French, have also been thoroughly revised and expanded, making it one of the most scholarly editions of the Bible.
1. I realise that this would be quite a large task but it would be a fantastic advantage for those who are involved in courses and find it difficult to read the the small footnote print in the written texts of published books.I like the bible app but I would like to have multiple study options.
2. A choice too of font size, background color ability to bookmark and label it.Great app, I love the new Jerusalem bible, it finally all makes sense! I would definitely recommend this version of the bible for anyone who wants to get the most out of The Word.
3. I don't have to read the passages multiple times before I put it together myself, something with the KJV and the NAB I have had to previously do.Good translation, nice, clean presentation.
4. Excellent translation; Accurate and very easy to read and understand.
5. Other than these few issues, this is a very good way to read the Bible.
6. And I would really like the possibility of having a permanent record of which books /chapters have been read and competed.
7. This could be user error! Overall though, a very good experience. The rhythm of the Jerusalem Bible reads more like a novel than a Bible.
8. Which in my opinion makes it an more enjoyable read than King James or Holman's Christian Standard.
9. All in all, a very nice app. This is one of the best apps not just for the Bible content which is outstanding, but from the perspective of navigation.
10. It's easy to navigate to a particular location in the Bible.
11. I like the year reading plan but I also have a couple of others that I do that would be nice to have a way to just go to where I left off rather than having to remember these book and chapter I was on.
