1. On the big plus side, being able to sync to-do's between my desktop and my Android device, with end-to-end encryption, is just an amazing thing, especially that it's open-source and free.Joplin is a great note taking tool with many great features.
2. It will automatically sync no sooner than every 5 minutes unless you manually hit the sync button, which is fine if you like to use one device at a time, but I'm so used to the instantaneous syncing in Standard Notes where I can paste a link using my phone and see it on my computer within a couple of seconds that I just don't think Joplin is a worthy replacement.
3. The status bar is a dark gray color with black text (a bit hard to read, especially outdoors) instead of just conforming to the selected theme, and the sync button wouldn't give me the prompt to connect to the Dropbox until I uninstalled and reinstalled to set the app back up (there is no option to open the prompt yourself as far as I'm aware).
4. Every time you open it, the notes will work fine for about 15 seconds, then it stops registering finger taps on the keyboard and lags out.
5. Synchronization is fantastic! My notes are with me on-the-go and always exportable to open formats.Joplin, I want to like it.
6. I recommend Joplin to anyone looking for robust notes platform.Getting better Been using this for a while now and I would have rated it 3*.
7. Cons mobile version has NO clipper, the UI has always been a little off, the sync doesn't work reliably esp.
8. Great features compared to alternatives but this thing needs to be rebuilt from the ground up.Joplin generally, and this app in particular, are fantastic.
9. Sliding in from the left doesn't pull out the sidebar like you would expect which is something you must do regularly, as the sync button is in this sidebar.
10. I'm coming over from Standard Notes because Joplin offers a lot more functionality like bullet points, checklists, media, etc.
11. Pros it's open source, desktop web clipper, markdown support, tons of sync options.
