1. Each Tempest leverages WeatherFlow-Tempest’s patented Nearcast Technology™, which feeds real-time observed weather data from your backyard into a machine learning system to dramatically improve forecast accuracy where it matters most.
2. The Tempest device features an all-in-one sensor and long-range wireless connectivity (1000ft), sonic anemometer, and haptic rain sensor, but it is far more than just a cutting-edge piece of hardware.
3. Once you’re up and running the app will quickly become your go-to for real-time weather conditions, lightning and rain alerts, and the most accurate forecast for your location - guaranteed.
4. Use your weather data to optimize heating and cooling, adjust your irrigation schedule, and alert your family when lightning storms approach.
5. Need to set up and configure your Tempest Weather System?
6. The Tempest app will walk you through a few simple steps, including connecting your home’s WiFi network.
7. Tempest is compatible with Google Assistant, Rachio, IFTTT, Siri, Alexa, Homey, and many more.
8. This app requires the Tempest sensor device, which is available to buy separately.
9. Use this app to save time, energy, and water by integrating with popular smart home and irrigation services.
10. Tempest’s open API and shareable data enable third-party use, with built-in publication to desktop software and online services.
1. Since the Tempest does not have a display console, the next best thing would be for me to be able to configure a spare tablet as a console that looks like a console from basically any other weather station.Superb system.
2. I shared the link to my station page on NextDoor social media, and at least 30 neighbors love being able to see it! Great being able to see mine and other Tempest stations on a map to compare readings.
3. The station also has the ability to link to Weather Underground but at this time, I'm only seeing temp and wind, no humidity, rain, or pressure.
4. This just seems like a gee whiz expensive data toy, more than anything useful.Loving this very functional app and my Tempest at home weather station.
5. I was disappointed that the weather station does not directly integrate into Smartthings, but I am able to get around it by using IFTTT.
6. This is applicable to the main weather display and worse on the personal device display where all text on the right side is smaller than the left side when there is plenty of real estate on my 10 inch screen. No bugs, needs user customization.
7. With no standalone home display, however, the app needs to have display customizations for small screens to large, hopefully approximating the rich look and feel of standalones from other station vendors.
8. So easy to set up, no wires, and instantly online to the smartphone and the internet! Love the simple, uncluttered web page that displays my station data.
9. It seems very accurate and yet so much smaller and compact than any other station I've owned with out all of the separate moving parts sticking out everywhere.
10. Since that doesn't work I thought the most useful part of a weather app, the radar, would at least be more accurate with stations in everyone's back yard.
11. The unit itself is another matter, but we'll stick to the app here You cannot add another, specific station to your city list if your trying to track a friend's station.
