vidIQ Customer Insights

1. I liked the app at first, and I hoped they would fix the crashing glitch over time... But it's been over 3 months now, and the app crashes about every 30-45 seconds, and it deletes all of the progress that I had with the tags... The app is impossible to use... Great idea, but some thing that should be simple is being made impossible...It was not a good experience I could not change my payment plan or upgrade or downgrade my subscription plan.

2. I wouldn't download the app if you aren't open to paying for pro.sometimes it's a bit glitch and would be good if there was the option to change your goal (view or followers) depending on how your channel is doing at that time.

3. The lessons it did show were great, but it never actually got around to making YouTube content, just setting up the channel.Good app but I can't change the keywords and scope of my channel especially now that I've rebranded the channel.

4. Edit: for one thing I'm unable to find a settings option/page native to the app, needs to be a filter option especially for optimizing videos, some features being fully premium feels like overkill especially if someone doesn't plan on using the app much.

5. Keeps telling me to use Play store and they don't have a button in their own app to change anything which is sketchy as hell and Google Play store has no way of changing your subscription as well and I hate the fact that you are not in control of anything and the app is not good at all.

6. Something needs to change, every time I see no change I will continue to keep writing.Very useful, UI is alright, could be more pleasant, convenient, but feels like it's missing some things.

7. It's a good idea the generator thing but why not 9 instead? Like that way we can see some other suggested titles for the video.

8. The issue that I've had that wasn't resolved was when after I made a payment, I wanted to switch to the free plan.

9. Instead of verification code to email, why not send a verification link ... I'm having a very very difficult time with the verification code....As a somewhat successful YouTuber (30,000 subs) this is not for me.

10. So far the app is almost better than YouTube studio mobile app, just needs a lot more adjustments.The chrome extension is amazing, however I have a few things that I dislike about the mobile app.

11. For starters, the VidIQ AI is not available on the app (at least not the free version), secondly I seem to have lost the funtion to use the video planner? I'm unaware if it is a bug, or if you can only use it once on the free version.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix vidIQ Issues

1. Fix vidIQ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart vidIQ: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the vidIQ App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "vidIQ" » Open vidIQ for YouTube » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for vidIQ » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear vidIQ for YouTube app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from vidIQ servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "vidIQ for YouTube" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check vidIQ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, vidIQ might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall vidIQ. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall vidIQ then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing vidIQ not working


2. Fix vidIQ Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make vidIQ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to vidIQ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, vidIQ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
