Strætó.is Customer Insights

1. In general the route planning feels a little buggy, sometimes when I try to enter my starting point, destination, and the arrival time when I try to enter one it'll glitch and erase the other two fields and that can be annoying to deal with.Keeps showing up two errors : says no internet if using mobile data and if connected to wifi it complains about SMS sending failure (server side, not on my phone) for authentication.

2. Couldn't verify if their schedules were accurate.Please add: - Save destination - Save route - List of timetable for ALL routes (and individual) It's getting really tiring to search my route every single time I need to show my ticket or need to search for other routes.

3. Maybe it's a glitch but it's annoying cause you lose your free month.. :/I like the app but there are somethings that could be improved such as saving most common places or routes for quick search for bus rides and time relevant listings of bus rides when viewing bus stops.

4. No problem on my home connection or the bus wifi, so I just checked connecting with a VPN on my mobile data and it's working fine... So that's mean that they blocked my DNS or something like that...Potential data privacy violations.

5. 1) On trip planner, when you select a trip, it would be nice to keep that trip visible, when returning from buying or showing tickets, so you knew the details of changes and stops.

6. 3) Favourites for your regular trips.Foreign credit cards often don't work as well as other features in the app like changing your phone number.

7. Makes no sense!The app wasn't that great (bad UI/bad responsiveness...) but now it's not even working anymore while using my mobile data.

8. If you travel and pick up local sim cards, don't be surprised that when you use your travel sim's number to activate an account for this app that you see the previous number holder's payment info still on file.

9. I don't need to see all rides from midnight, just current and future rides from selected bus stop.

10. Update: some of these bugs were fixed or improvements made, so I added a star 😊The app is just as bad as other Strætó's services.

11. The list of timetable doesn't have to be complicated, just a picture would help a lot, just like the booklets that were distributed ones.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Strætó.is Issues

1. Fix Strætó.is Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Strætó.is: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Strætó.is App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Strætó.is" » Open Strætó.is » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Strætó.is » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Strætó.is app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Strætó.is servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Strætó.is" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Strætó.is app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Strætó.is might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Strætó.is. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Strætó.is then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Strætó.is not working


2. Fix Strætó.is Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Strætó.is be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Strætó.is not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Strætó.is may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
