1. The footage requests are then broadcasted to our network of independent professionals who will decide to respond to the request, collect, and upload the video right from their own phone.
2. Crowd sourced video market place for news organizations seeking video from independent professionals, also known as "Stringers", hence the name of the app.
3. News channels or any other party interested in requesting footage of a particular event and/or location can place the requests on our web site.
4. If your video is used, you'll get paid.
5. You too can be a Stringr!
6. Download our app today and start responding to footage requests and earning some money.
1. The staff are always great though, and available by text/email/phone.If you want to waste your time shooting video at a double homicide, edit & upload the video and not get paid... Be my guest... Just know that there is no payment for your work "unless the end customer (who you have no contact with) chooses to use your work." Of course, you have no way to know if your video was actually used or not.
2. So the app is in very deep pre release state, nothing is working, no progress bar, you don't know if it's uploaded or not, you don't know if it's accepted or not, you can't see miltiple videos for one request.. Never get paid BTW.The app is a little clunky and doesn't tell you why your video is rejected, which is frustrating after you've spent hours and hours driving around to collect it for them.
3. The pay is good, if your videos are selected, if not it helps to build more experience and you could end up with directly requested work that can pay real well.Rates are exploitative and there's no telling if the footage you shoot will be purchased.
4. I want to like this app, but my experience has been horrible to say the least. This is just horrible app, i went to location to shoot what was requested, (car accident in brooklyn), just to give it a shot.. I was told ill get $75.
5. And your time and work into obtaining footage becomes worthless when they tell you that the client didn't use it... Great system! Not!I've had this app for a while.
6. I found Stringers blog that really helps new videographers like myself learn the ins and outs of a great shoot vs a good enough shoot.
7. Waste of time and energy for professionals but if you have a cell phone and a lot of free time, I suppose you could get some enjoyment out of it and maybe a few extra bucks (if you're lucky).
8. So far, I have been paid for 60 percent of my requests, and I submitted 2 videos without a request.
9. It always tags video with an address near where you upload from, not the location you film from.
10. I drive around Atlanta for work and when I can I will stop and complete a filming request, usually only takes about 20 minutes to get what I need.
11. I've been notified and paid for the videos that were downloaded.
