1. U CAN HIDE THE SETTINGS BUTTON IN SETTINGS WHAAAAAATThis app looks really good and was going to replace my current epub reader but it is absolutely impossible to sign up for an account in order to access the cloud sync feature I keep getting an error when all mandatory boxes are filled with valid information! I tried uninstalling the app but that did not help at all.Everything looks amazing.

2. A clearly marked "home screen" button would solidify that, & likely solve some of the apparent irregulaities I've noticed.This is a really great app! It supports lots of book formats and transitions smoothly into the text to speech mode.

3. Thanks!I've used this app for years and it hadn't failed me... until six months ago, when the text to speech function began to randomly mute itself for 15-30 seconds every 5 minutes, and chapter pages aren't recognized (E.g. Chapter 5....? Chapter 6....?) so I can't jump to a previous chapter.

4. I'm getting used to the new version, but I wish that the favorites heart ❤ icon would show up in the lists like the icons for have read, will read, and reading now.

5. Disabling auto rotate doesnt work and if I accidentally turn to the side, it loses my place completely.Since the November 7 update, there are several regressions that have impacted usability.

6. I'm looking into other options but I've used this app for so long, I don't know where else to go!This app is potent, offering the user valuable capabilities to enjoy and manage the reading experience.

7. Please add an option to pick your swiping direction (horizontal, vertical, both) and adjust the gesture region so it doesn't interfere with system gestures.

8. Then whenever I touched the screen something happened, usually it was scrolling several pages up or down or turning on autoscroll (which I don't understand who might need at all).

9. If I am reading and my device goes to sleep, it can't show me any of my books after I open it.

10. First I couldn't find how to switch from scrolling the text to turning pages (fb2).

11. When in immersive mode, this interferes with swiping from the top and bottom edges to show the status and nav bars.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix PocketBook reader Issues

1. Fix PocketBook reader Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart PocketBook reader: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the PocketBook reader App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "PocketBook reader" » Open PocketBook reader - any books » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for PocketBook reader » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear PocketBook reader - any books app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from PocketBook reader servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "PocketBook reader - any books" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check PocketBook reader app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, PocketBook reader might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall PocketBook reader. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall PocketBook reader then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing PocketBook reader not working

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make PocketBook reader be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to PocketBook reader not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, PocketBook reader may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • I have pocketbook reader version 4.36 installed from the play store. I have just installed uptodown app which shows version 5 of this app, but it fails to install. Any clues as to why? Using a samsung galaxy tab S6 lite with andriod 11. Thankyou
