When I first started using this app it was nowhere near this bad with the commercials but to make it worse the news is cut short during the broadcast recording then you have nine commercials before you find out they cut out the last part of what was being said.Latest update completely changed app.

Usually when apps are upgraded they're actually upgraded not downgraded.Mirroring much of what has already been said, the developers took a great app and removed nearly everything that made it excellent: live DVR, Chromecast functionality, short-term archive of multiple newscasts, the list goes on.

3. I wish I could understand what made anyone think these changes were a good idea, but needless to say, they're simply a bust.I don't enjoy watching ads that allow the use of profanity, the "Nicorette Commercial" Nonetheless, I enjoy a news app that offers a wide range of news across the states.

4. I love having the opportunity of viewing news from every major city in the US, at any given time of the day!!!!! The news is fairly current, informative and very interesting, I can control when I choose to view.

5. Many times during a news broadcast the timing cuts into what the newscaster is saying and goes into commercials.

6. Don't waste your time, find another app.I have this app on my firestick and this is the only app that I can watch my favorite local news (fox 17 in nashville, tn) for free.

7. I'm sure they have no idea how it works!As a few others have said, if you like the *idea* of this app, but hate the current version, search & find version 1.6.1 and load that (and disable updates on Google Play).

8. Biggest problem is the commercials are so much louder than the actual news anchors.

9. You will have settings to choose your resolution, chromecast support and the ability to pause, FF, REW or start from the beginning on live broadcasts.

1. Fix NewsON Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart NewsON: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the NewsON App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "NewsON" » Open NewsON - Local News & Weather » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for NewsON » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear NewsON - Local News & Weather app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from NewsON servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "NewsON - Local News & Weather" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check NewsON app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, NewsON might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall NewsON. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall NewsON then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing NewsON not working

2. Fix NewsON Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make NewsON be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to NewsON not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, NewsON may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
