Scientific American Customer Insights

1. I will not renew my subscription and can not recommend this app...Updated on April 16,2023 and lost all my downloaded issues and app icon is gone from home screen on my Android tablet.

2. To make it worse, the app is too sensitive to accidental sideways motions while scrolling - so it switches to another article - and returning to the one you were reading takes you where? Always to the top.

3. Does seem a bit faster, though, I'll give them that!Updated the app and lost all ability to read saved issues.

4. However, the app keeps forgetting me and tells me I don't have a current subscription and some of the previous issues I've downloaded now cost me $6.99. This happens about every couple of months.

5. The latest update did not improve things but instead made navigation a bit more complicated and broke offline functionality.

6. The app downloads the text of the articles but all of the graphics is missing in the offline mode.I've had a bit more time to use this app, and really the lack of a dark mode is its biggest flaw.

7. After several years of development the application still lacks a basic functionality of remembering a reading position.

8. Love the magazine, but already cancelled my automatic renewal. The content is great and easy to read.

9. Previously, the app at least remembered which article you were reading (although not the position in it).

10. A diservice to the editors because the content it top, first class.Funny: Google asks if the app has multi-device sync.

11. Despite paying so much for the subscription I can no longer read saved articles when off line .
