1. Thank you!There are some things i love about medium but the fact that it keeps recommending me content "based on my reading history", but completely misses the mark on what I'm actually interested in, is very annoying.

6. There are silly UI flaws, the embedded-to-track-you browser does not work, links in emailed notifications fail with the mobile app, and a platform designed for reading does *not* allow me to choose a preferred font.

7. My favorite feature is finding authors who are sharing their real life experiences.Having a slight issue on Pixel 3 XL when I'm reading an article.

8. I remember using this option on the desktop version for the Reading List (older version) but never found it on mobile app.

9. The articles are not interrupted by annoying ads popping up and moving around the screen, so that when you try to push "next", the link for the ad moves and you are directed to that instead of the article.

10. There should be an option to remove topics that medium "thinks" i am interested.

11. The app itself has a nice presentation but it's fiddly when it comes to making a reading list or archiving things.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Medium Issues

1. Fix Medium Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Medium: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Medium App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Medium" » Open Medium » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Medium » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Medium app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Medium servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Medium" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Medium app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Medium might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Medium. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Medium then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Medium not working


2. Fix Medium Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Medium be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Medium not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Medium may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
