What users are saying

1. In text view, when the screen rotates, it resets to the top of the article; the reader looses their place, an article can be multiple pages in a continuous scroll.

2. While reading an article, given the small text on a 7" tablet, the screen dims (power saving).

3. I am assuming the number of magazines are regulated to the library's account, so my wish for additional periodicals are not an app shortcoming.Was able to log in effortlessly, and nice that there is access to a multitude of magazines.

4. App does its job, but leaves alot lacking, very unfortunate.Fine for text reading.

5. Now it crashes when I am reading magazines, and if I go back to that magazine, it keeps crashing.

6. It can't keep track of your place when you close the app, and if you turn off the screen it stops reading (and loses your place).

9. The devs should feel lucky to even get 2 starts.The app works nicely to give you access to updated magazines if you are in the network of an institution that has a subscription but the rendering is poor.

10. In text view, should prevent or slow the screen from going to sleep.

11. My issue is that the page that should load (where you enter you library card #) after you choose your library does not appear.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Flipster Issues

1. Fix Flipster Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Flipster: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Flipster App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Flipster" » Open Flipster - Digital Magazines » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Flipster » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Flipster - Digital Magazines app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Flipster servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Flipster - Digital Magazines" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Flipster app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Flipster might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Flipster. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Flipster then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Flipster not working


2. Fix Flipster Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Flipster be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Flipster not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Flipster may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
