1. It seems like there is a complete lack of quality assurance at Xfinity.Really simple interface to access all of the features of the security system within one or two "clicks" at most.

2. Sometimes my Android phone gets hosed up and I have to reboot my phone for my security system to work correctly, but that usually fixes the problem.The app is incredibly frustrating.

9. When you open the app it takes you to the Xfinity app that also does NOT support Home Security.

10. I'm very glad I did, because now I can monitor my home remotely, save video clips, and activate and deactivate the alarm system from anywhere.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix XFINITY Home Issues

1. Fix XFINITY Home Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart XFINITY Home: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the XFINITY Home App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "XFINITY Home" » Open XFINITY Home » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for XFINITY Home » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear XFINITY Home app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from XFINITY Home servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "XFINITY Home" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check XFINITY Home app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, XFINITY Home might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall XFINITY Home. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall XFINITY Home then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing XFINITY Home not working


2. Fix XFINITY Home Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make XFINITY Home be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to XFINITY Home not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, XFINITY Home may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
