Chirp Audiobooks Customer Insights

1. It begins reading every time I get in my car without fail and I am now , because of this faulty app, lost as to where I left off in my book when I was actually listening! I have looked up multiple suggestions and none have worked.I have used this app for a couple of years now and earlier in 2022, they made serious strides in improving the app's compatibility with Android Auto, to the point where most of my issues were addressed, and the app was working very well with AA.

2. I would like to find another app to play my books until the Chirp app is back up and working properly.While it is a great app for reading books and cheaper books than my audible subscription on Amazon, I cannot get it to shut off.

3. But I've been using it for a few months now and I no longer have those issues, so if something was updated or changed, it worked!! I save a lot of money with Chirp and get so excited when I see a book on my tbr that's on sale, or find new titles I haven't heard of.

4. When I restart the audio from the control on the lock screen, the app opens its splash screen before going to the menu where I must restart again.been using my library card and been listening to audiobooks for years now, but a coworker showed me this app.

5. *I've used this app for many years, and I have had 2 instances where the app was a bit glitchy, (books pausing suddenly), and the team responded immediately with solutions that worked.I really like Chirp as a source of books.

6. Updated review: at first there was an issue with tracking the time spent reading, and I woud sometimes get blank screens when trying to read something new.

7. At this point, it is difficult to listen to books on my phone or my tablet and unsafe to try to use the app in the car.

8. I have to go into the app settings and change the notification settings to either never show it (which is inconvenient bc that makes it easier to pause and go back wo opening the app) or turn it off and turn it back on (which is also inconvenient and annoying).

9. Please fix :)One of my favorites! Tons of books at great prices, and they are constantly offering DEEP discounts.

10. Major issue w the notifications though! Even when I close the Chirp app, it shows up as a notification I can't swipe away.

11. Especially the bundles!Before Android Auto access was removed from Chirp, I would have given Chirp five stars.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Chirp Audiobooks Issues

1. Fix Chirp Audiobooks Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

  1. Restart Chirp Audiobooks: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Chirp Audiobooks App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Chirp Audiobooks" » Open Chirp Audiobooks » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Chirp Audiobooks » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Chirp Audiobooks app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Chirp Audiobooks servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Chirp Audiobooks" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Chirp Audiobooks app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Chirp Audiobooks might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Chirp Audiobooks. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Chirp Audiobooks then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Chirp Audiobooks not working

2. Fix Chirp Audiobooks Server issues & Internet Connection

  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Chirp Audiobooks be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Chirp Audiobooks not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Chirp Audiobooks may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.

  • hello...i have two of the same book being displayed on chirp..i don't know how i did of them is being sold for $3.99 and the other for 6.99...i would like to delete the one for $6.99 and keep the one for $3.99... i appreciate your help with this...thanks.....steve

  • I signed up for Chirp Audio and did not receive an official email, informing me of being signed up and also I purchased an audio book: Get out of your head by Jennie Allen and I tried to sign in with my email: christineoliviajacksonadale@redacted and it says email not found.
    I had signed up on my husbands iPad, when I downloaded the app on my iPad, it would not recognize my email address, that I signed up with: christineoliviajacksonadale@redacted
