Why should I report an Issue with RNZ?

1. AppContacter will directly Email your issue/feedback to an apps's customer service once you report an issue and with lots of issues reported, companies will definitely listen to you.
2. Pulling issues faced by users like you is a good way to draw attention of Radio New Zealand to your problem using the strength of crowds.
3. Importantly, customers can learn from other customers in case the issue is a common problem that has been solved before.

I'm also a bit fed up with the notifications so I'll be turning those off.Not bad, but one frustrating thing about it is that it sends notifications about interesting articles, except when you click on them instead of taking you to the article itself, you're taken to the main news page (and often the article in question is really hard to find there).

2. I almost never click on article notifications now because of this, but if this were fixed I'd definitely do it a lot more .Great public news source, and the app is a great hub for having text, live radio and programmes all in one place.

3. It seems RNZ doesn't know what "breaking news" is and uses the notifications to drive clicks to their articles.Really great app when it works.

4. I'd also like more nuanced control of alerts e.g. to be able to exclude breaking news about sport!The app often uses the word "live" incorrectly, and directs you to pre-recorded content instead of a genuine livestream.

5. The problem is it doesn't stop when your connection changes and a few times now it has burnt through all the data in my plan!! Quite frustrating when this happens but otherwise a decent app.Great news, programmes, but really useless app.

6. Most annoying thing right now is multiple breaking news alerts on COVID only taking you to the "live COVID Updates page".

10. Well that's fine if you've got a new phone but a lot of us have perfectly servicable older phones that won't get the latest updates.I want to love the app and I really appreciate the service it is trying for, but it almost unusable.

11. Over-categorisation of articles means that many articles annoyingly show up multiple times on the main page.

1. Fix RNZ Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:

1. Restart RNZ: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the RNZ App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "RNZ" » Open RNZ » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for RNZ » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear RNZ app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from RNZ servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "RNZ" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check RNZ app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, RNZ might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall RNZ. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall RNZ then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing RNZ not working

2. Fix RNZ Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make RNZ be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to RNZ not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, RNZ may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
