1. You can also favorite pictures and it's easy to invite others!! I have Pictures from 2013 to now (3 kids) and have only used 20% of the free storage so far! But would definitely upgrade when needed!I have been using Lifecake since my oldest was born in 2015.

2. I like that it puts your kid's age on every photo.I love lifecake!! Super easy to upload and captioned and I can easily tag my children!! On the main page you can see all of your pictures or posts, or you can look at each child individually!! It also shows their exact age in each picture.

3. We've been using the app for about 1.5 years and still got plenty of space on the free version even with the amount of videos we've added.We've had this app since my 5 year old was born and it used to be amazing, I recommended it to everyone.

4. I love that I can look back at both of my kids' lives from day 1 with this app, love the side by side comparisons they give of different ages, and we can download old pictures or videos at any point so it frees up storage.

5. I just found out they were switching to "new" app (Back Then) which will cost $5 a month! That's a bit steap considering my circumstances at the moment... Oh but wait! Supposedly you have the choice to download your photos to a mobile device or computer if you're not willing to pay.

6. Photos never seem to upload any more, instead they get stuck so I have to cancel the upload and start again (sometimes 3 or 4 times to get the upload to work), and there's now no option to share to lifecake directly from photos.

7. Sometimes uploads get stuck but overall I am very happy with this app!Not happy... I have 3-4 years worth of pictures on Lifecake, most of which I dont have copies of anymore.

8. Except that, you cant! Ive tried everything and I cannot get my sweet babie's photos off this awful app! 😡I love the way it sets out the timeline.

9. Using this app is like someone taking the thousands of pictures you created, dumped them on a pile on your floor, and held your face really close to it so you can't really see what's going on.

10. Only reason I'm giving this a 4 out 5 is that the upload speed of pictures / video can be pretty slow.

11. It doesn't pull all the photos from the camera, just the most recent and I couldn't add a photo directly from the photos app-it crashes.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix Lifecake Issues

1. Fix Lifecake Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart Lifecake: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the Lifecake App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Lifecake" » Open Lifecake - Baby Milestone & Private Photo Album » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Lifecake » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear Lifecake - Baby Milestone & Private Photo Album app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Lifecake servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Lifecake - Baby Milestone & Private Photo Album" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check Lifecake app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Lifecake might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall Lifecake. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Lifecake then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Lifecake not working


2. Fix Lifecake Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Lifecake be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Lifecake not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Lifecake may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
