This app would be very useful as I live in Japan and all alerts come in Japanese and in an emergency it's difficult to try and translate into English.For three days before the hurricane hit, I tried to use this app, but it refused to move past the "select your country of origin" screen and asked me to try again later.

2. For example, I got an alert every 15 minutes for a good 2 hours for a typhoon heading away from Japan.Can't get past the 'select country of origin' page after selecting English for language.

3. Guys, I understand that you want to collect survey data, but maybe not being able to do that shouldn't make the app stop working and not give vital emergency information.Able to select language but unable to select country of origin.

4. Also, under the medical section it contains no mention of covid, which would seem a greater safety concern than normal summer weather... Uninstalling...Great app with lots of useful information and advice for travelling in Japan.

5. Don't encourage people to download a broken app during a hectic time!Daily loud alarms about hot weather -- NOT useful! I installed this app a year ago so that I could stay informed about tornadoes and earthquakes when in Japan.

6. It is not useful to have an application for foreigners in Japan if it doesn't work.

7. Thankfully didn't need any of it, but it was reassuring to have it installed just in case!It worked during summertime for heat warnings, but didn't get any warnings during the last typhoon, even though the areas I selected were on purple and red alert.

8. Another issue was typhoon Hagibis and Internet connections in Japan.It's a useful app, but the notifications can be a bit excessive.

9. I am considering uninstalling, it seems useless when it really counts.Doesn't work with Galaxy note 8.

10. No matter what country I choose, it'll load for a bit and then an error message flashes up saying I can't select that country because it can't be saved.

1. Restart Safety tips: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
2. Update the Safety tips App. Here is how:
   1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "Safety tips" » Open Safety tips » click "Update".
   2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for Safety tips » click "UPDATE".
3. Clear Safety tips app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from Safety tips servers.
   1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "Safety tips" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
4. Check Safety tips app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, Safety tips might not work.
5. Uninstall and reinstall Safety tips. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall Safety tips then reinstall.
6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing Safety tips not working

2. Fix Safety tips Server issues & Internet Connection

1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make Safety tips be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to Safety tips not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, Safety tips may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
