1. Would be handy to be able to have the ability to change the cameras network settings to connect it via phones hot-spot! As connecting to the cameras WiFi kills my Internet access on my phone, which I need for my job! (amazon Flex app) !! Also would be great to change WiFi channels as I have a Bluetooth radio transmitter and when I have music being transmitted it causes my cameras image transmission to drop to 1-5fps or cuts it out entirely.

2. Add guide ajusting optIt works, once I figured out the issue! The included directions are terrible... 🤦 ♂️ DO NOT CONNECT TO WIFI, USING THE APP!!! Go to your device's (I use a Samsung Galaxy S10+) wifi setting instead! On my Samsung Galaxy S10+, my security settings didn't automatically allow me to connect to the camera, because it didn't like something about the app.

3. Also if the accelerometer on the phone was used to switch to the app (if open) when reversing that would be very helpful.Disappointing. On Android phone, the display of the camera image is intermittent It just says 'pls go to settings page to set WiFi'.

4. I use it on a Samsung Note 20.Working as expected on my Samsung Galaxy note 9 a little weird getting the Wifi to find the camera but not a biggie.

5. I had to click advanced settings on my phone, and click on "use as is", then it immediately connected!!! I'm giving a 3 star because of this.The app would be vastly improved by including a vertical flip (thus allowing greater flexibility with camera placement), but otherwise it's fairly painless to install and use.

6. I have to set it up and connect indoors where I have a full internet connection and choose the camera's WiFi connection, then it may or may not display.

7. Does the job it's intended to do.I have a lot of issues connecting to the camera with the app, it constantly asks to go to WiFi settings , every now and than I get lucky and it connects.

8. Despite the software giving the message, 'WiFi connection success'.The camara worked great up to last Sept.

9. Hopefully the problem gets fixed, I believe if the app got better more people would recommend this product.SIMPLY NOT WORKING Bought this backup camera for my RV off Amazon.

10. Downloaded the app, turned the camera on, found the wifi-hit the button...presto It works! The range is pretty far too! Very simple.

11. Don't waste your money on this wifi hitch camara!Very limited functionality.

Steps to Troubleshoot & Fix safetycam Issues

1. Fix safetycam Not Working/Crashes/Errors/Unresponsive & Black/White screen:


  1. Restart safetycam: Restarting the app will resolve most errors.
  2. Update the safetycam App. Here is how:
    1. On Android goto PlayStore » Search for "safetycam" » Open safetycam » click "Update".
    2. On iPhone, goto AppStore » Your profile » Available Updates » Check for safetycam » click "UPDATE".
  3. Clear safetycam app cache: Clearing cached data will force your app to retrieve the latest data directly from safetycam servers.
    1. On Android, goto Settings » Apps » Select "safetycam" » click Storage » click "Clear Cache".
  4. Check safetycam app permissions. If any of these permissions required to use your device's features are disenabled, safetycam might not work.
  5. Uninstall and reinstall safetycam. If nothing else has worked, completely uninstall safetycam then reinstall.
  6. Restart your device. Last, restarting your device can often clear most problems causing safetycam not working


2. Fix safetycam Server issues & Internet Connection


  1. Check network connection: An unstable Internet will make safetycam be unable to connect to it's servers. Ensure your wi-fi is working then restart app.
  2. Disable VPN: VPN can cause connection errors and lead to safetycam not working. Make sure all VPNs are off
  3. Enable background data: When Background data is turned off, safetycam may not be able to connect to the Internet when running in the background.
